At Duratow, we stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of our boat trailers. Our warranties are designed to provide peace of mind, ensuring your trailer performs reliably. Below are the details of our enhanced warranty coverage for Duratow boat trailers, effective for trailers purchased on or after July 1, 2025.
3-Year Structural Warranty
Duratow warrants the boat trailer frame and its fabricated steel components, including cross- members and subframe assemblies (excluding tires, tubes), to be free from structural or welding defects for three years from the date of original purchase, as recorded on the proof of purchase or Duratow’s records. Ball couplings, supplied by authorized third-party manufacturers, are warranted against defects in materials or workmanship for one year from the date of original purchase, subject to the third-party manufacturer’s terms.
What’s Covered:
Defects in the structural integrity of the Duratow-manufactured frame or welds. Failures in Duratow-fabricated steel components due to manufacturing defects.
For ball couplings, defects in materials or workmanship as determined by the third- party manufacturer’s warranty, facilitated by Duratow.
What’s Not Covered:
Damage to the frame or components due to misuse, neglect, accidents, or improper maintenance.
Normal wear and tear or cosmetic imperfections.
Ball coupling failures due to improper installation, misuse, or modifications not authorized by Duratow or the third-party manufacturer.
2-Year Galvanized Finish Warranty
Duratow warrants the hot-dipped galvanized finish on the trailer frame and components against red rust for two years from the date of manufacture, as indicated on the compliance plate. This warranty applies to galvanizing performed by Duratow’s authorized third-party galvanizing providers, whose processes meet Duratow’s quality standards.
What’s Covered:
Red rust on galvanized surfaces of the trailer frame, U-bolts, nuts, bolts, mechanical braking components, and manual winches (excluding Dyneema rope).
Surface degradation due to defects in the galvanizing process or materials used by the authorized third-party provider.
What’s Not Covered:
Cosmetic changes to the galvanized finish (e.g., dulling, discoloration, or white rust). Rust on painted, powder-coated, or zinc-coated surfaces.
Damage due to environmental factors (e.g., prolonged exposure to saltwater without proper rinsing), improper storage, or misuse.
Defects resulting from unauthorized modifications or repairs to the galvanized surfaces.
1-Year Component Warranty
Duratow facilitates warranties for the following components, supplied by authorized third- party manufacturers, for one year from the date of original purchase or within 18 months from the manufacture date on the compliance plate, whichever comes first, against defects in materials or workmanship, subject to the third-party manufacturers’ terms.
What’s Covered:
Electrical lighting systems (e.g., wiring, lights, connectors). Hydraulic braking equipment.
Axles and suspension components.
Jockey wheels and their surface finish (painted or powder-coated). Tires (excluding wear from normal use).
What’s Not Covered:
Bearings, seals, brake pads, winch cables, winch ropes, bow rollers, and keel rollers. Damage from improper use, overloading, or failure to maintain components. Cosmetic imperfections or normal wear and tear.
Defects resulting from unauthorized modifications or repairs to components.
Walking Platform Safety Notice
The Duratow walking platform/mesh is designed for safe use when appropriate footwear is worn. Failure to wear suitable footwear may result in injury, and such incidents are not covered under this warranty.
Duratow’s Obligations
If a defect covered by this warranty is identified, Duratow will, at its discretion:
Repair or replace Duratow-manufactured defective components or the trailer at no cost to the original purchaser.
For third-party components (e.g., ball couplings, electrical lighting systems, hydraulic braking equipment, axles, suspension components, jockey wheels, and tires), facilitate claims through the respective third-party manufacturer’s warranty process, providing repair or replacement as per their terms.
Process claims within a reasonable timeframe after inspection at an authorized Duratow facility or by an approved representative.
Cover reasonable transportation costs for warranty-related repairs, provided prior approval is obtained from Duratow.
Conditions, Exclusions, and Limitations
Eligibility: This warranty applies only to the original purchaser, as recorded in Duratow’s records, and is non-transferable.
Claim Process: To exercise this warranty, the purchaser must:
Provide proof of purchase (e.g., receipt or invoice) and the trailer’s compliance plate details.
Deliver the trailer to an authorized Duratow service center at their expense, unless transportation costs are pre-approved.
Notify Duratow of the defect within 30 days of discovery.Exclusions:
Damage from accidents, misuse, improper maintenance, or modifications not authorized by Duratow or its approved providers.
Normal wear and tear, including tire tread wear, cosmetic changes, or surface scratches.
Components not explicitly listed in the warranty coverage.
Trailers used for commercial purposes, unless explicitly stated otherwise at the time of purchase.Limitations:
Duratow’s liability is limited to the repair or replacement of Duratow-manufactured components. For third-party components, Duratow’s responsibility is limited to facilitating the third-party manufacturer’s warranty. Duratow is not responsible for:
Incidental or consequential damages, including loss of use, towing costs, or personal injury.
Costs incurred from unauthorized repairs or third-party services without prior approval.
Liability Disclaimer
Duratow is not liable for accidents, damages, or injuries resulting from the use or operation of our trailers after delivery. Customers are responsible for:
Complying with all applicable traffic laws and regulations.
Obtaining necessary licenses, permits, or certifications for trailer operation.
Ensuring proper maintenance and safe operation of the trailer, including rinsing galvanized surfaces with fresh water after saltwater exposure.
How to File a Warranty Claim
To initiate a claim:
Contact Duratow Customer Service at info@duratow.com.au or 0498400412 within 30 days of discovering the defect.
Provide proof of purchase, the trailer’s compliance plate details, and evidence of the defect (e.g., photos or videos).
For third-party components (e.g., ball couplings, electrical lighting systems, hydraulic braking equipment, axles, suspension components, jockey wheels, or tires), Duratow will coordinate with the respective third-party manufacturer to process the claim.
Arrange delivery of the trailer to an authorized Duratow service center, or request guidance on transportation options.
Duratow reserves the right to inspect the trailer, in coordination with its authorized galvanizing provider or component manufacturers if applicable, to verify the defect before approving a claim.
